Real Madrid are eyeing a potential move to sign Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella in the New Year.
That is according to a report from The Sun.
They claim that Marc Cucurella, 25, is considering a move away from Stamford Bridge in January due to a lack of game time. This is because he’s made just one appearance so far this season under Mauricio Pochettino.
It is explained that the £175,000-a-week defender (Spotrac) is unclear on how many minutes he’ll get with the Blues despite holding conversations with the head coach.
The report says that the Spain international may return to his homeland, with La Liga giants Real Madrid ‘quietly monitoring’ the player’s situation. In fact, they could move to sign him on a possible loan deal to provide cover at full-back for the second half of the season.

Madrid have signed plenty of players from Chelsea over the years, including the likes of Thibaut Courtois, Eden Hazard and Antonio Rudiger. They also signed goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, 28, from the Blues on a seaon-long loan in the summer.
Now, Cucurella may get the chance to reunite with Spanish teammate Kepa for the second half of the campaign.

Sport reported earlier this month that Cucurella has worked extra hard in training to try impress Pochettino. The writing could be on the wall and he may leave, though.
We think it may be best for all parties if he moves on.
The left-back’s route into the starting XI appears to be blocked by several individuals right now at Chelsea. It’s pretty damning that he’s not featured yet in the Premier League, too.
Perhaps a fresh challenge in Madrid may help him rediscover the kind of excellent form he showed at Brighton.
