Fabrizio Romano has claimed on his YouTube channel that Todd Boehly is now ramping up the pressure on Benfica to try and sign Enzo Fernandez.
The American has been financially brilliant for Chelsea ever since he took over the club from Roman Abramovich last year.
He bankrolled the Blues to a well-documented heavy summer transfer window, highlighted by additions such as Raheem Sterling, Wesley Fofana and Marc Cucurella.

For reasons such as injury and loss of form, the well-documented summer transfer window has not had the desired effect, and a near-full rebuild has been sanctioned for new manager Graham Potter.
They have addressed the glaring issues across the frontline with the additions of Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix and Noni Madueke.
Now though, they are looking to add the final touches on the window with a midfielder, as they prepare for a future that likely doesn’t involve Jorginho.
Boehly pushing to sign Fernandez
Over this weekend, the Blues have returned to the pursuit of Fernandez after having their initial approach of the 22-year-old turned away earlier this month.
Romano has now claimed that the owner is leading the late charge to try and sign the Argentina international before this month comes to an end.
He said: “Todd Boehly and Behdad Egbhali are really pushing for Enzo; they’re prepared to offer crazy money, prepared to meet the £105 million clause value, and they want him immediately so other top clubs don’t get Enzo in the summer.”
Fernandez’s ability is doubted by no one, with him being described as ‘spectacular’ by none other than Lionel Messi.

Moises Caicedo was another midfielder that the club have been strongly linked with this month, having a verbal approach rejected 10 days ago.
However, their interest seems to have been pipped by Arsenal’s, who have had another attempt to sign him reportedly rejected overnight.
Brighton however are still firmly against him leaving this month, despite his personal statements on social media.
