Jorginho is more likely to leave Chelsea this summer than teammate N’Golo Kante, it’s been reported.

The Daily Mail explains senior Blues midfielders Jorginho and Kante are both about to enter the final year of their contracts at Stamford Bridge.

It is understood that Jorginho, who is attracting interest from Italian giants Juventus, is the more likely of the pair to exit on a transfer.

Meanwhile, the report adds Kante could end up in talks over a contract extension due to the fact manager Thomas Tuchel wants to keep him in his plans.

They’re both important central midfield options in the Chelsea squad, along with Mateo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. There’s a chance of throwing returning loanees Conor Gallagher and Billy Gilmour into that mix next season, too.

Jorginho more likely to leave Chelsea

It’s no surprise to hear Jorginho’s exit is deemed more likely than Kante, even though both are out of contract in 2023.

90min reported last month that it’s unlikely Jorginho will end up being a new deal to extend his stay in west London.

The £110,000-a-week star is a deep-lying midfielder that’s a vital part of Thomas Tucel’s squad, scoring nine goals in 47 games across all competitions this season.

Aged 30, he should still have plenty of years left in the tank as well.

However, the Italian playmaker does sometimes come in for criticism for not being the most mobile and he can sometimes be overrun in the centre of the park.

It’s going to be intriguing to see how Chelsea go about sorting player contracts because they don’t want a repeat of this summer when the contracts of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen were allowed to run down to a close.
