Report: £12m Chelsea player in talks to leave Stamford Bridge, even with transfer window now closed

Reports have claimed that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is in talks with MLS side Los Angeles FC over a potential transfer this season.

According to Relevo, LAFC are looking to bring him in as their transfer window remains open despite it being closed to European sides.

The 33-year-old’s form has fallen off a cliff since his £12m move to Chelsea on deadline day of the last summer transfer window.

He has just three goals since the move to West London, two of those coming in the Champions League against former club AC Milan.

However, those goals will mean very little now after recent developments based on Graham Potter’s European squad.

The striker was left out of the updated squad for the knockout stages of the competition, which required work after the host of January signings made by the club.

Enzo Fernandez, Mykhailo Mudryk and Joao Felix were selected for the squad, meaning impressive defender Benoit Badiashile was left out the party that will be travelling to Borussia Dortmund.

It also means Aubameyang, who has seemed to fall heavily out of favour, will not be available for the biggest remaining games of Chelsea’s season.

The relationship between Potter and the former Arsenal man has been strained ever since they faced Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.

Injuries forced the manager to get creative, meaning Aubameyang, who came on as a substitute in the first half, was replaced in the second.

He looked as if he was pushing for a move back to Barcelona in January, however that never came to fruition.

Now, Relevo are reporting that it could be a move to America that saves him from the nightmare at Chelsea.

The Blues will be adding Christopher Nkunku to their ranks at the end of the season, making gametime only less likely for the Gabon man.
