Chelsea have reportedly kept Marcus Thuram on the list of attackers they might move for in the next transfer windows.

According to 90min, the Borussia Monchengladbach striker has been watched by the scouts from Stamford Bridge and is under consideration by the hierarchy.

Thuram has rightly drawn attention to his abilities this season by scoring 13 goals across all competitions, providing a further four assists.

His efficiency in front of goal led Didier Deschamps to call him up for the French World Cup squad.

The 25-year-old will be understandably be revelling in the limelight, considering the suffering he’s faced prior to the current term.

He missed a large chunk of domestic and international football last and earlier this year because of injury.

Now back amongst the goals and the celebrations, Thuram can finally taste a major tournament without any concerns.

The only worry for him right now is sorting out his future at club level.

His contract with Gladbach expires in June, meaning he could well leave as a free agent unless a renewal can be drawn up.

Chelsea eye Thuram as possible striker supplement

Snapping up the number ten for no upfront cost might just be music to the ears of Chelsea.

Todd Boehly is apparently keen on strengthening Graham Potter’s front line, due to the current crop of forward’s failing to suffice.

Boehly has seemingly got a few names on his list already, including Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Rafael Leao from AC Milan.

However, both the Serie A stars will likely cost an arm and a leg, meaning cheaper alternatives would be welcome.

Presenting Thuram, who is on the verge of being open to the market.

He may well be influenced to move to Chelsea by former Gladbach teammate Denis Zakaria, who called the Frenchman ‘phenomenal’ back in 2019.
