Jorginho would reportedly deliberate a move back to Napoli if Chelsea received a suitable offer from his former employers.

According to the Daily Mail, the midfielder ‘would be open to a Napoli return’ if discussions over a new contract fail to become concrete soon.

Jorginho’s deal with Chelsea expires in June, and there is still major uncertainty whether he will renew for another season.

Those at the top of the Stamford Bridge pyramid used to be hesitant about rewarding players over 30 with fresh terms.

However, with Todd Boehly and his new team now in place, there might be a saving grace for 31-year-old Jorginho.

This is if he wants to remain in South West London, of course.

Will Napoli nudge Jorginho?

He has spent half a decade at the club after leaving Napoli in 2018, winning numerous trophies and appearing over 200 times.

Yet, despite his contribution towards Champions League and Europa League success, the Italy international still divides opinion amongst the fans.

This split view might have seeped down through to the player, as he continues to weigh up his options for the future.

In the potential scenario Napoli offer their hand out to their old maestro, it might be too difficult for Jorginho to refuse.

His status in Naples is still arguably more respected than it is in South West London.

Plus, with the possible arrival of Enzo Fernandez to compete with, now may be the best time to set foot for his homeland.
