Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos has claimed to TuttoMercatoWeb that his client will prioritise Chelsea when his contract expires with the club at the end of the season.

The Italy international has previously offered little encouragement that he will extend his stay at Stamford Bridge beyond the date that his current deal ends.

The situation is mirrored by fellow midfielder N’golo Kante, although circumstances surrounding the Frenchman’s injury record have made his scenario a lot more complicated for the club.

Supporters may have already been gearing up for a similar set of events to what occurred this summer, with important first team players moving on upon the expiry of their contracts.

Defender’s Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen made the switches to Spain’s biggest sides after they were against signing a new deal with the club.

Jorginho prioritising Chelsea

However, TuttoMercatoWeb’s comments received from Jorginho’s agent may have given them some newfound hope.

While he acknowledged the player has a special place in his heart for Napoli, he confirmed there had been no interest from the current Serie A leaders in bringing him in.

He went on to confirm that their priority is to deal with his current club, Chelsea.

It would be tough for the Blues to lose two important players in the same position in one window, however they have reportedly already made attempts to strengthen in the area.

Reports have claimed that the Blues are very keen on the signing of Enzo Fernandez from Benfica, with them looking to get it done in January in order to jump the queue of a number of elite sides looking to complete the deal.

They would likely need to trigger the player’s release clause in order to get the deal done, with it reportedly sitting at around £106m.
