Chelsea’s Mateo Kovacic does expect Manchester City to agree a deal to sign him in a matter of days.
That is according to the Daily Mail.
They claim that Mateo Kovacic is expecting to be sold by the Blues and to join Premier League champions Manchester City, who recently completed a historic treble.
The Mail’s report says that Kovacic thinks Pep Guardiola’s City will agree his transfer soon.
It is understood that the 29-year-old midfielder has been in ‘positive talks’ with City about a potential move to the Etihad Stadium this summer.
Apparently, Chelsea gave the Croatia international permission last month to begin conversations.
The £40million star has been a key figure in Chelsea’s side during the last few years, making 221 appearances in total and winning numerous bits of silverware. However, it looks like he’s played his last game for the club.
Incidentally, 90min previously claimed that Chelsea are prepared to sell Kovacic to Man City for around £35million this summer.
City are on top of the world right now after beating Inter Milan in the Champions League final at the weekend. It goes alongside a Premier League and FA Cup success in the same season.
Some Chelsea fans have started to doubt Kovacic’s ability and long-term future at Stamford Bridge, but the fact Guardiola’s side want him in their ranks says a lot about him.
