Report: £40m rated 'leader' is keen on joining Chelsea, he could sign for the Blues in January
Chelsea might be on closing in on their first January signing as Aurelien Tchouameni reportedly wants to join the Champions League holders.
According to TEAMtalk, the highly sought-after Monaco starlet is ‘keen’ on linking up with Thomas Tuchel’s team.
This should be music to the ears of the Stamford Bridge hierarchy, as they have apparently placed the recruitment of Tchouameni under ‘urgent’.
Which is no surprise, considering the number of suitors all seemingly jostling for the 21-year-old’s signature.
TEAMtalk claim that along with Chelsea, AC and Inter Milan, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Manchester United are invested in the midfielder.
Tchouameni talk of the town
None of the names can really be blamed for chasing so intensely after the France international.
Despite his youthful looks, the Monaco talent has already played over 100 games at club level and half a dozen with the senior national team.
Tchouameni also captained the Ligue 1 side several times this season, highlighting his exceptional maturity.
“For his very young age, I had found him very mature in the game and very, very good,” said Enock Kwateng, a former teammate of the rising star at Bordeaux.
“When I came to Bordeaux, I saw this character of a leader. He’s young … but he’s not young.”
He has all the characteristics of a future phenomenon – if he isn’t one already – so it shouldn’t be a shock that Chelsea want to snap him up immediately.
Or at least, after the New Year, where TEAMtalk say the Blues will likely make their move for Tchouameni, in a deal that could cost in excess of £40m.
