Reports from the Netherlands claim that Ajax’s Edson Alvarez is set to skip training today in an attempt to force a move to Chelsea.
According to De Telegraaf, the midfielder’s head is already in London after the interest was revealed late yesterday.
Reports broke last night that Chelsea were planning a £43m move for the Mexican, with their midfield injury woes already stacking up this season.

N’golo Kante is still a few weeks away from returning to fitness, and his personal mounting injury problems make him difficult to rely on to remain fit for the season.
With Mateo Kovacic still being eased back in and Ruben Loftus-Cheek being forced off through injury against Southampton.
Alvarez to miss Ajax training
This, combined with a tough start for Conor Gallagher, has seen them register a late interest in signing a midfielder, with Alvarez at the top of the list.
This has seemingly turned his head firmly towards a late move, with De Telegraaf saying he is set to miss training with the Dutch champions today.
Losing Alvarez would be another big blow to Ajax, who have already had to sacrifice Lisandro Martinez and Antony to big-money moves to Manchester United.

The 24-year-old is one of many options that have cropped up over the last 24 hours as potential reinforcements for the Blues, with Douglas Luiz and Ibrahim Sangare also linked with deadline day moves to Stamford Bridge.
However, it has already been confirmed that the PSV man will be staying at his current club, while there is plenty of competition for a deal for Luiz.
Alvarez’s defensive stability in midfield will offer Chelsea the opportunity to shift to the four-at-the-back system they are pushing for, with the experiment not exactly working in Tuesday’s defeat to Southampton.
