Reports have claimed that Raheem Sterling would have been open to a move to Liverpool before he made the switch to Chelsea.
According to The Athletic, there was no interest from the Reds to bring him back to the club he left to join Manchester City.
The England international made a high-profile £50m transfer to Stamford Bridge at the beginning of last summer as the first big name to join since Todd Boehly took over the ownership of the club.

The ambition was for Sterling, a member of the illustrious Premier League ‘100 club’, to bring the goals that had been dearly missing from the Blues back to the club.
If anything, things have only got worse in front of goal at Stamford Bridge.
The 28-year-old has only scored four goals in the Premier League this season, adding a couple of strikes in the Champions League group stage.
Sterling was open to Liverpool move
His place in the side could be under pressure too. Chelsea have taken the January transfer window as an opportunity to strengthen the attack.
They have signed Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke, with the Ukraine international already making his debut for the club.
He impressed big time at Anfield, suggesting he is going to play an important role for the rest od this season.

With Sterling’s fortunes not looking as bright, he may begin to regret his move soon, with The Athletic suggesting Chelsea were the only side showing any real interest in a deal.
The Englishman is currently out of action after suffering a ‘strange’ injury in his first league match against former side City.
He will have to wait and see whether his place is so easy to reclaim when he returns, with it already being reported that Madueke could start as soon as next week.
