Chelsea have reportedly made a bid to sign Dynamo Moscow midfielder Arsen Zakharyan.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea have made their move for the youngster by submitting an opening offer for him.

It is understood that the Blues have recently launched a bid for the 19-year-old, who’s already a key player for Russian top-flight side Dynamo Moscow.

The report adds that agent Rafaela Pimenta is now working to try complete the teenager’s transfer to Stamford Bridge.

Described as a player with “great tempo and technique” by Di Marzio, Zakharyan becomes the latest youngster to be pursued by Chelsea this summer.

Chelsea bid for Arsen Zakharyan

Zakharyan’s a skilful talent that’s versatile enough to play as a central midfielder or winger.

He scored nine goals and made nine assists last season in 34 games across all competitions.

The youngster already has four senior international caps for his country Russia, too.

Blues investing in youth

It’s a clear strategy in this transfer window that Chelsea have a big eye on their future, as well as bringing in first-team players to strengthen the starting line-up.

Dynamo Moscow’s rising star Zakharyan certainly falls into the category of a really exciting youngster, especially when you see what he’s doing at a first-team level already.

Chelsea have already secured the signings of highly rated teenagers Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesare Casadei and Gabriel Slonina this summer. For example, Joe Cole has previously raved about the quality of 18-year-old Chukwuemeka.

It’s going to be interesting to see how many of these young recruits can develop into first-team players during the next couple of seasons.
