Report: Chelsea about to push to sign £105m player, insiders think they're going to get him

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing AC Milan’s Rafael Leao and are feeling confident they’ll get him.

Leao, 23, is a talented attacker that’s travelling with the Portugal squad for the World Cup this winter.

The left-winger has been on fire so far this season for Milan, scoring seven goals and making nine assists in just 20 games across all competitions.

TMW recently claimed that Chelsea are expected to make a move to sign £105million-rated Leao from Milan. In fact, the report mentioned Blues trio Armando Broja, Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech as individuals that could be involved in some sort of player-plus-cash deal.

Chelsea confident of signing Rafael Leao

According to 90min, Milan have failed so far in their attempts to get Leao to sign a new contract at the San Siro, with a “lucrative offer” knocked back by their player.

It is understood that Blues insiders at Stamford Bridge are now optimistic about signing the Portugal international and are confident he may join.

The report explains that Milan won’t allow the 23-year-old speedster to leave in January, but Chelsea will soon get to work on trying to sort out a summer transfer.

It seems pretty obvious from the opening months of the 2022/23 season that Chelsea’s forward line may still need some repairs in the near future.

It’s a pretty damning statistic that the club’s top scorers so far this season are Raheem Sterling (five) and Kai Havertz (four).

The worry for all Chelsea fans is once again splashing out a fortune on one individual because the success rate in recent years has been really poor.

Leao does look a superb attacker that would inject so much dynamism to the forward line at Stamford Bridge, but is it worth the risk?
