Chelsea have reportedly scheduled a meeting to discuss transfer target Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig.
According to Alfredo Pedulla, Chelsea could make a fresh attempt to sign the 20-year-old defender after failing in a summer pursuit.
It is understood the Blues have planned discussions to talk about the centre-back, who’s currently representing his country Croatia at the World Cup in Qatar.
The report explains Graham Potter’s side are in close contact with Gvardiol’s agent and there’s already work in progress to possibly try seal a deal to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
Apparently, the Leipzig star may now be ready to leave the Bundesliga club, with Chelsea desperate to beat rival buyers Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham to his signature. Potter has given his approval for the club to try get a player he highly rates, too.
Alfredo Pedulla reports that the Blues want to try wrap up a deal for the left-footed defender to join next summer.

Chelsea target Josko Gvardiol
Described as “extraordinary” by Ivica Olic, Gvardiol is a modern day defender impressing for both club and country this season.
The ball-playing centre-half has looked the part during Croatia’s opening two games of the World Cup. He’s a regular at club level with Leipzig, too.
He looks tailor-made with his profile to fit the Premier League, but can Spurs or Chelsea win the race for his signature?

Gvardiol is someone Chelsea were reportedly in advanced talks to sign back in August during the summer transfer window, but the youngster ended up staying in Germany this season.
In our view, he could be a really exciting addition for any top club in England.
