Chelsea reportedly still have time to ramp up their interest in Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham and catch up rival buyers Liverpool.

According to The Times, Chelsea have joined some of Europe’s elite teams in the race to sign the Dortmund and England midfielder.

The report explains the Blues still have time to sort out a deal and catch up Liverpool, who have already done some work to try take the 19-year-old to Anfield.

Described as “incredible” by Declan Rice, Bellingham is starting to become one of the most talked about young players in the sport.

The central midfielder only enhanced his growing reputation with some eye-catching displays during the international break for England.

Chelsea interest in Bellingham

Chelsea’s interest in Bellingham is now starting to do the rounds in the transfer rumour mill.

90min claimed this week that Chelsea face competition from six other clubs to sign the Dortmund talent. Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are all potential suitors, too.

The Telegraph reported earlier this month that Bellingham could be made available for 2023, which gives plenty of time for the queue to grow even longer for his signature.

For Chelsea, it’s positive news that they won’t completely be left behind when a potential superstar may be on the market.

If the Blues could beat their rivals to him next year, it would be a mega statement.

England fans are guilty of going overboard on teenage sensations, but Bellingham’s rise for both club and country do mean he stands out as a serious talent that’s heading for the top.

He’s got everything to his game that you could want as a box-to-box midfielder with strength, speed, agility and intelligence.
