Report: Chelsea contact Leverkusen over transfer fee for Kai Havertz
Chelsea have reportedly early talks with Bayer Leverkusen over midfielder Kai Havertz as the Blues hope to negotiate the transfer fee.
According to a report from the Guardian, Chelsea have contacted Bayer Leverkusen about bringing the highly-rated 20-year-old to Stamford Bridge this summer.
The versatile player who could play as a midfielder and a forward has managed 15 goals and seven assists in all competitions for Leverkusen so far and he is widely regarded as one of the best young talents in Bundesliga.

The report said Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is keen to reshape his attacking force and wants to add Havertz to his options, despite being reportedly close to signing RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner and having already signed Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech for the summer.
It will not be easy, however, since Chelsea are reportedly facing competitions from several other top clubs such as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester United.
An earlier report from German outlet SportBild even claimed Chelsea are one of six clubs interested in Havertz.

We also could expect some negotiations before the two clubs reach any concrete agreement.
The Guardian added that while Leverkusen would want as much as €100million (£89m), Chelsea are hoping to sign the German international for a fee in the region of £70m.
