Report: Chelsea could make another approach for 23-year-old PL star, could offer two players in part exchange

Chelsea could reportedly make another move for West Ham’s Declan Rice after their first approach was rejected.

According to 90min, the Blues were turned down by West Ham after making contact about the 23-year-old Premier League star. This is something that the club’s new owners are pushing for.

It is understood Thomas Tuchel’s side could return again for the £150million-rated man, though.

The report explains Chelsea may be willing to offer their players Armando Broja and Ross Barkley in a part exchange transfer for Rice.

West Ham are reportedly determined to stand firm on keeping Rice during this summer transfer window unless their nine-figure valuation is met.

Chelsea move for Declan Rice

It sounds like Chelsea are still in the hunt to potentially sign West Ham’s superstar midfielder this summer.

The England international is exactly the kind of marquee signing that would send out a colossal message from the new ownership at Stamford Bridge.

He’s formerly of the Blues academy and a London-born talent that’s become a brilliant defensive midfielder in recent years with West Ham.

His importance at the London Stadium is why West Ham have put a mega price tag on his head, but he’s entering the final two years of his contract.

Broja + Barkley

If Chelsea can lower the Rice valuation by including players in the deal, it seems like a no-brainer.

Blues midfielder Barkley, who’s reportedly open to exiting Stamford Bridge this summer, is definitely someone that’s surplus to requirements in Tuchel’s squad moving forward. The 28-year-old was actually linked with West Ham in last summer’s transfer window, too.

However, it would be a crushing blow to lose talented 20-year-old striker Broja.

It’s been reported West Ham are actually preparing a £30million bid to sign Broja, so could Chelsea negotiate him into the Rice transfer?
