Chelsea may now reportedly be interested in signing Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on loan this summer.

According to The Athletic, there’s talks taking place on Wednesday over the 33-year-old player potentially move to Stamford Bridge before the transfer window shuts this week.

It is understood Chelsea and Barcelona still haven’t agreed a transfer fee for the attacker, while personal terms aren’t sorted yet either.

The report adds it’s now been suggested in conversation between the clubs that a loan deal could be an option.

The Athletic states Aubameyang could be sidelined and unavailable to play for a number of weeks due to suffering a broken jaw when his house was burgled by intruders at the weekend, though.

Aubameyang on loan

It’s unclear on how long Barcelona’s forward will be out of action for, which has to be a considerable factor in Chelsea’s pursuit to get him.

The former Arsenal man has an eye-catching CV that suggests he could help solve the Blues problem when it comes to scoring goals.

Described as “world class” by Gary Neville in the past, Aubameyang would fit the No.9 position at Stamford Bridge. He previously enjoyed success playing under Blues coach Thomas Tuchel, too.

If available soon, Barcelona’s frontman could be a big help at the Bridge.

Don’t forget Broja

Yes, it’s essential that in the next two days before the window shuts the club tries to bring in a new centre-forward.

However, Armando Broja’s positive cameo for Chelsea in yesterday’s defeat to Southampton should mean he’s right in the striker conversation.

The thought of Broja and Aubameyang rotating for the forward position is one that will please a lot of the fanbase.
