Chelsea reportedly want to try sign Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt in this summer’s transfer window.
According to Calciomercato, Chelsea are planning a move to press for the 22-year-old’s signature.
The report explains Italian giants Juventus could be looking at giving the defender a new contract with them, but that won’t stop Thomas Tuchel’s Blues making an approach.
It is understood the Holland international is viewed as someone that can fit into the side at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea want De Ligt
De Ligt, who moved to Juventus from Ajax for around £68million in 2019, is being linked with a spell in England for the first time in his young career.
He’s a ball-playing centre-half that’s already got a wealth of experience, which includes silverware with both Juventus and Ajax.
The youngster’s been compared to Liverpool and Holland centre-back Virgil van Dijk on several occasions, including by ex-Chelsea player Nathan Ake in 2019.
It’s an easy link between De Ligt and Van Dijk given they’re both Dutch. In truth, they’re miles apart in the stages of their current career, but the Juventus defender has shown a lot to suggest further down the line he can be one of the best.
The strongest centre-back links so far this summer involving Chelsea has to be towards Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, with fresh reports insisting the Blues still want to sign him.
