Report: Chelsea feel that PL rival are more likely to sign ‘unique’ £129m player that Todd Boehly is interested in

Chelsea reportedly believe Liverpool are ahead of them right now in the race to sign Jude Bellingham.

According to The Athletic, some at Stamford Bridge feel that the Reds ‘would be in pole position’ should the Borussia Dortmund midfielder move to a Premier League side in the summer.

Jurgen Klopp’s employers are set to enter into a boxing match with Todd Boehly once the campaign concludes for Bellingham’s signature.

The 19-year-old is evidently heavily admired by the two English heavyweights, who will be hoping to take off their gloves and shake his hand at the end of the season.

Boehly has apparently made the England international one of his primary midfield targets, along with Enzo Fernandez.

Whilst there is a major push to get Fernandez signed this month, the pursuit of Bellingham will likely intensify once the warm weather window opens.

Dortmund are almost certainly not going to allow the teenager to set sail for his homeland in January.

But they will probably be more inclined once their term finishes, one that still has plenty left to offer.

Whilst winning the Bundesliga is rather out of reach right now, their Champions League journey could churn up something special.

The German side restart their European adventure with a visit from none other than Chelsea in February.

Bellingham will get first hand experience of some of his potential future teammates.

It will also allow Boehly to assess the ‘unique’ player he may have to spend upwards of £129m on.
