Reports suggest Chelsea have enquired into the availability of Oleksandr Zinchenko this summer.

According to The Daily Mail, Manchester City are willing to listen to offers which meet their desired selling price, believed to be £35m.

The converted full-back endured a tumultuous season on a personal level, with the scenes in his home country Ukraine undoubtedly having an effect on his mental ability to focus on the game.

Nevertheless, the campaign ended with success for Zinchenko, with him picking up an assist in the dramatic victory against Aston Villa that secured his fourth Premier League title.

Competition for places in his newfound left-back role is evident at The Etihad, with Joao Cancelo often operated in that position as he enjoyed the best season of his career by far.

Chelsea make contact over Zinchenko

This has seemingly left City open to accepting the right offer for Zinchenko, with The Daily Mail claiming Chelsea are among the Premier League sides interested in a deal.

However, the report goes on to claim that London rivals Arsenal have opened talks with the club over a deal, potentially setting up a reunion with former assistant boss Mikel Arteta.

This isn’t the first time the two sides, who were only really challenging for top four last season, have both challenged for the signature of a Citizen, with the Gunners winning the race for Gabriel Jesus earlier in the window.

Zinchenko’s main asset which sets him apart is his versatility. He joined Pep Guardiola’s side as an attacking midfielder, and has found himself more than comfortable at left-back in order to get game time.

Despite this, playing full-back in the City team is different to playing there in most sides, so it’s currently unclear if he’d look as comfortable in a team not quite as dominant.
