Report: Chelsea have watched ‘magnificent’ £100m player several times this season, he’s now been offered to them

Chelsea have reportedly scouted Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix several times already this season.

Felix, 23, is a highly-rated attacker currently playing in Spain with Atletico Madrid.

The Portugal international has just enjoyed a decent World Cup tournament in Qatar, but his nation were knocked out in the quarter-finals by surprise package Morocco.

He’s a versatile forward that can be really effective as a goal threat in either a left-winger or centre-forward position. For certain, his explosive pace and neat dribbling is a massive advantage of his that defenders will hate.

Chelsea scouted Joao Felix

According to Football.London, Chelsea have observed Felix several times this campaign.

The report says the Blues have “tentative interest” in signing the 23-year-old at this current stage, but he’s certainly an individual on their radar.

This comes after 90min claimed this week Chelsea and Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign Felix. They do want in excess of £100million for him, though.

In our view, Felix possesses all the offensive traits to be a truly world-class attacker if he finds consistency as he matures over time.

However, £100million is too much for him when you consider some of Chelsea’s poor transfer dealings in recent windows. It’s simply not worth another massive transfer blunder.

Described as “magnificent” by Atletico president Enrique Cerezo in AS, Felix has bucket loads of potential.

For now, Chelsea boss Graham Potter needs to work out his best system and who he needs at the club to start getting positive results immediately.
