Chelsea are reportedly set to make a dramatic late move for Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Mykhaylo Mudryk and will hold talks to sign him this week.
According to The Sun, Chelsea are plotting to hijack Arsenal’s strong interest in the 21-year-old talent.
It is understood the Gunners have already agreed personal terms with Mudryk in a deal worth around £120,000-a-week, but they’re yet to meet the asking price of Shakhtar despite a £62million bid.
The report explains that the Ukrainian giants are demanding £60million with another £20million in add-ons.
Mudryk would prefer to complete a move to the Emirates Stadium to link up with the current Premier League leaders, but the suggestion is that a move to north London is still a long way off.

The Sun adds that Chelsea now want to swoop in for Shakhtar’s £80million-rated winger.
Apparently, the Blues are in line to hold talks for the left-winger. This is because Shakhtar sporting director, Darijo Srna, will travel to London for discussions this week.
Todd Boehly is tipped to ‘spend big’ in this January transfer window and it appears he’s taking action this week on another transfer target.
It’s very easy to see why Mudryk is attracting interest from top Premier League sides.
The dazzling wide player has been in excellent form this season, scoring 10 goals and making eight assists in 18 games across all competitions. It’s worth noting five of his goal contributions came in the Champions League group stages, too.
Described as “rapid” on Twitter by Chris Sutton, he’s got express pace and can give opposition full-backs a nightmare with his dribbling.
In our view, Mudryk is a great alternative to AC Milan’s Rafael Leao. Gianluca Di Marzio claims AC Milan are growing confident that 23-year-old left-winger Leao will sign a new deal with them, despite current links to Chelsea.
