Chelsea are reportedly considering Inter Milan trio Lautaro Martinez, Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni as transfer targets.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea will ask for one of the aforementioned trio from Inter to agree a deal that will see Blues striker Romelu Lukaku move the other way to the San Siro.

Lukaku, 29, is already being linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge just one year on from joining.

It’s been reported that there will imminent talks between Chelsea and Inter about a deal for Lukaku, which will need to be compiled as a loan.

Chelsea considering ‘perfect’ Martinez

For certain, 24-year-old Argentine attacker Martinez is the real standout name from the three Inter players in Chelsea’s sights.

He ended up with 25 goals across all competitions for the Italian side this campaign, including 20-plus in the Serie A league season.

Described as “perfect” by Owen Hargreaves in the past (BT Sport 1 – 2:27pm, December 13, 2021), Martinez also has an eye-catching record of 20 goals in 38 senior caps for Argentina.

It’ll be interesting to see if Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea decide to ramp up interest in him.

The Blues may need to be careful of history repeating itself because scoring goals in Serie A doesn’t guarantee success in the English division.

Inter’s Skriniar is another with existing links to Chelsea.

It’s been claimed the 27-year-old Blues target would be open to a switch to the Premier League.

He’s an impressive ball-playing centre-back that’s played in a well drilled defence for several years, so has definitely got the kind of CV needed to replace someone like Antonio Rudiger at the Bridge.

Defensive teammate Bastoni is on the Blues radar, too.
