Chelsea are reportedly close to signing Inter Milan’s teenage prospect Cesare Casadei this summer.
According to The Guardian, the Blues are edging closer to completing a deal for the 19-year-old rising talent and are aiming to finalise it this week.
It is understood Thomas Tuchel’s side expect to be successful with their third bid for the youngster after the previous two offers were turned down this summer by Inter. The latest package could be worth as much as £12million.
The report explains Chelsea could put Casadei into their academy side straight away. However, a return to Italy to join a Serie A is an alternative option.

Chelsea close to signing Casadei
Casadei is still a fairly unknown young talent, but Chelsea are prepared to pay an eight-figure transfer sum for him already.
As it stands, the central midfielder’s yet to make his first-team debut. He’s been majorly impressive at youth team level as a genuine goalscoring midfielder, though.
The Italy Under-19 international has previously earned big praise from Maurizio Viscidi, who’s coordinator of the Italian national team setup at various age groups. He’s described it as “unusual” how good the Inter youngster is in the air.
Viscidi said: “He’s a modern midfielder, because out of all the youth team midfielders he’s been the one with the greatest aptitude for attacking runs and goalscoring. He attacks the area penalty area better than anyone else we’ve seen, better than [Davide[ Frattesi or [Nicolo] Barella. And he’s also strong in the air, something that’s unusual among younger players.”

Blues transfer strategy
It looks like the West London club are continuing with their transfer policy this summer.
Chelsea’s recruitment strategy is becoming a little clearer when you take a look at their signings.
They’ve signed proven top-class players to strengthen the starting line-up, while also signing exciting young talents for the future.
The arrival of “talented” 18-year-old Carney Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa is proof they have an eye on the future.
