Reports suggest that Chelsea are now open to permanently selling winger Christian Pulisic.

According to The Mirror, the Blues are looking for at least £40m if they are to strike a deal to let him go in January.

It has been a long time since Pulisic enjoyed his time at Stamford Bridge.

Under Thomas Tuchel, the American was hardly ever offered a start, and he will have been one of the happier that a new manager was on his way to West London.

However, things haven’t seemed to change much since Graham Potter came in. A large portion of his appearances have actually been as a makeshift wing-back.

This is obviously far from what he is wanting in the Premier League, and Pulisic has seemed to take the World Cup as his opportunity to remind a few people what he can do.

Pulisic wanted by Newcastle

A player of the match performance against England will certainly have turned some heads, as he led the United States on their way to a Round of 16 match against Netherlands.

However, The Mirror have claimed that he is still in a state where Chelsea are happy to sell him as early as January.

The report goes on to say that Newcastle United are one of the most interested parties in a deal, however they will be looking to knock the price down if they do bid.

With first team football far more likely at St. James’ Park, it could be an extremely attractive offer for Pulisic to consider.

The sell will be even easier for Newcastle given where they are in the league. They are currently third, having only lost once all campaign.

Potter would be wise to give Pulisic one more chance when he returns from World Cup duty before letting him go potentially too early.
