Chelsea have reportedly offered Edouard Mendy to Tottenham Hotspur.

According to 90min, the Stamford Bridge chain of command have actively extended Mendy’s services to Spurs.

The Senegal international hasn’t exactly been in Todd Boehly’s good books since he bought the Blues earlier this year.

Having initially been a beckon of hope for Chelsea’s defensive line, the goalkeeper has gradually declined in the past few months.

He was not exactly on top form towards the tail end of end of last season, keeping just two clean sheets in his final seven matches.

Mendy also trudged through a few more muddy patches along the way, but was brilliant at certain parts of the campaign.

It’s mainly been murky for the 30-year-old this term, however.

Very mucky Mendy

After starting the first six Premier League games and conceding nine goals, the ‘keeper lost his place to Kepa Arrizabalaga due to sustaining an injury.

In his absence, Kepa grow in statue and solidified his role as Chelsea’s new number one.

Sadly for the Spaniard, he too suffered an injury, allowing his fellow gloved companion to regain the spot between the sticks,

But it has not been a happy return for Mendy.

In the five fixtures he’s played in following that absence, the £22m arrival from Rennes hasn’t kept a clean sheet.

This downturn in form has apparently caused Todd Boehly to scour the market for alternative goalies.

Everton’s Jordan Pickford has been mentioned as a possible option, alongside Graham Potter’s former Brighton & Hove Albion shot stopper Robert Sanchez.

Both will be – or in Pickford’s case already have – competing at the World Cup with their respective nations, offering them an opportunity to possibly impress Boehly.

Mendy did nothing of the sort last night, when he basically gifted Holland’s victory over Senegal.

It hasn’t exactly helped your cause, Edouard.
