Chelsea are reportedly prepared to splash major cash on Dusan Vlahovic in the summer.

According to Calciomercato, Todd Boehly is gearing up to bid a whopping £87m on the Juventus striker once the warm weather window opens for all to look inside.

Vlahovic only joined the Serie A side in the middle of the last season, yet his departure is already heavily under discussion.

It’s not exactly been the fairy-tale move for the attacker since he left Fiorentina for their Italian rival in January.

He has managed seven goals for so this term, yet missed the last four league matches ahead of the World Cup through injury.

The 22-year-old recovered in time to jet off to Qatar, but only started once as Serbia crashed out in the group stage.

In Serbia’s final group game, Vlahovic scored his first at a World Cup, providing evidence of his threat in the opposition penalty area.

To be fair, his talents have been there to see since those days at Fiorentina, where he was described as ‘lightening’ and ‘ridiculous’ by Micah Richards.

It also sent a timely remainder to the Juve chain of command, who are seemingly intent on selling the giant forward.

They could earn a sizeable amount of money if a club made a beeline for the number nine.

Chelsea look to Dusan Vlahovic for solutions

Chelsea are apparently one of those intrigued by Vlahovic, and may just deliver the dollars to Juve’s front door.

Boehly is certainly in the market for a player in the Serbian’s position.

Armando Broja’s campaign-concluding injury against Aston Villa on Sunday means Graham Potter only really has Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to lead the line.

A deal for Molde’s David Datro Fofana is seemingly close to completion.

However, will Fofana be the driving force behind Chelsea’s need to climb up the Premier League table?

No disrespect, but the Eliteserien does not compare to England’s first division in terms of quality or intensity.

At least with Vlahovic Potter would get experience at the highest European level.

But can the Blues wait around until the summer for a new addition to the front line, when their needs require sorting now?
