Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing youngster Diego Moreira from Benfica.

Moreira, who only turned 18 back in August, is a teenage attacker now attracting interest from the Premier League.

The left-footed attacker has made two first-team appearances for the Portuguese giants in his short career so far, but a lot of his development has come in the Benfica B side this season.

He’s a winger who plays for the Portugal Under-19s team, too.

Chelsea interested in Diego Moreira

According to The Mirror, Chelsea are keen on signing Benfica’s young forward.

The report says Moreira has been compared to Leroy Sane and Nani in the past, who both previously excelled in the Premier League.

It is understood that Benfica want their teenager to extend his contract with them.

They’re currently struggling to negotiate a deal, though. Therefore, they may be forced to cash in next summer given his given contract expires in 2024.

26-year-old Leroy Sane, who’s won league titles with both Manchester City and Bayern Munich, is a great player to be compared with.

For Chelsea, they showed in the last summer window a desire to bring talented youngsters through the door.

Omari Hutchinson, who impressed Graham Potter in a friendly match the other day, is one of the upcoming teenage stars that decided to complete a move to Stamford Bridge recently. Cesare Casadei is another exciting player to join, too.

It’s going to be interesting to see if the Blues can tempt Moreira overseas.
