Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang believes he will be approached by Atletico Madrid and former club Barcelona over a potential transfer this summer, according to the Evening Standard.
It is safe to say that the 33-year-old’s career at Chelsea has not gone the way he had expected before joining the club last summer.
Aubameyang, whom Jamie Carragher previously described as “brilliant”, signed for the Blues with Thomas Tuchel, who has now been replaced by Graham Potter, reportedly playing a big part in his decision.
The retired Gabon international now even mostly plays a second fiddle to Kai Havertz, whose natural position is not in the central forward role.
While he may still be a valuable member of the squad as a backup striker, the arrival of David Datro Fofana has arguably further diminished his importance to the team.

So, it is hardly a surprise that a recent report claimed Aubameyang is among the six players Chelsea will look to sell at the end of the season.
The player might have been aware of this as well since according to the Evening Standard, he is expecting summer approaches from Atletico and Barcelona.
This would be very optimistic of him, to say the least.
He has only scored three goals from 17 appearances (10 starts) for the Blues in all competitions so far.
It seems very unlikely that Atletico and Barcelona, who recently signed Alvaro Morata and Robert Lewandowski, respectively, would make a move for the former Arsenal striker.
In fairness, he had an impressive goalscoring record during his short stint at Barcelona, so he may be able to replicate that.
Still, it would make a lot more sense if Aubamayeang is prepared to play fewer minutes at these Spanish clubs.
Chelsea, on the other hand, have reportedly had an agreement in place with RB Leipzig over Christopher Nkunku‘s summer transfer.
While far from being a traditional number nine, Nkunku often plays as a centre-forward for Leipzig and would likely be an option for Chelsea in this position.
