Chelsea’s Mason Mount is reportedly keen to sign a new contract under the new ownership.
According to The I, Mount’s sole focus during a turbulent season at Stamford Bridge has been to remain a Chelsea player.
It is understood the 23-year-old wants to pen a contract extension under the new owners, too.
The report explains the Blues are preparing to give the England international a fresh improved deal that more than doubles his existing £80,000-a-week salary.
The Todd Boehly-led consortium has now received government approval to complete a Chelsea takeover, so let’s hope for some positive news on new contracts in the near future.

Mount new contract
For certain, Mount’s a player in the Chelsea ranks fully deserving of a new mega contract.
The Blues academy graduate has grown into a real senior player in this squad during recent seasons, so deserves to be recognised among the best from a financial standpoint.
He finished the season with an impressive 13 goals and 16 assists across all competitions. The attacking midfielder won the club’s player of the season for a second consecutive year as well.
Mount is a go-to individual in Thomas Tuchel’s squad that should be a mainstay in the XI for years to come.

England duty
Mount has been named in Gareth Southgate’s latest England squad for upcoming Nations League fixtures, which seem extra important given it’s a World Cup year.
The Chelsea playmaker is an ever-present for his country that seems one of England’s more trusted players. However, he’s yet to really recreate some of his brilliant club form on the international stage. It’s a chance to change that in upcoming games, though.
Elsewhere, Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher and Reece James are also in the Three Lions squad.
