Chelsea are now reportedly starting to believe they may be able to sign Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Pickford, who’s the number one keeper for Everton and England, is a player entering the prime years of his career.

The 28-year-old gloveman is at his very best when he’s representing his country, amazing John Terry with his England performances at the recent World Cup in Qatar.

He’s now back focused on club football with Everton, who sit 17th in the Premier League table right now.

Chelsea believe they may sign Pickford

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham are all considering moves to sign Pickford.

It is understood that there’s been a delay between Everton and Pickford during talks to give him a new contract, which has led to some encouragement from interested buyers.

The report says the Merseyside club are still likely to tie down the £30million star’s future at Goodison Park.

However, potential suitors now believe a transfer may be possible.

Described as “brilliant” recently by Petr Cech, Pickford has the individual quality to be one of the Premier League’s top goalkeepers.

In our view, he wouldn’t be the worst signing at Stamford Bridge, especially if a reasonable transfer price can be arranged. However, there’s no massive upgrade on Chelsea’s current shot-stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga when you look at his form right now.

Kepa, 28, deserves this opportunity in-between the Chelsea sticks after a turbulent few years in west London.

The Spaniard is giving Graham Potter no reason to desperately demand a new number one.
