Chelsea reportedly think they can win the race to sign Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele.

According to 90min, the Blues are “quietly confident” they can secure a deal for the 25-year-old this summer.

It is understood Barcelona are still working on agreeing a new deal for Dembele, who’s out of contract at the end of June.

The report explains Paris Saint-Germain have tabled an offer to sign Dembele. However, Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea believe there’s a chance they could swoop in and win the summer transfer battle.

Chelsea in race to sign Ousmane Dembele

With Dembele’s contract at the Camp Nou coming to a close, all eyes are on him to see his decision for his next club.

The French winger has been unlucky with injuries during his career, but he’s scintillating when fit and on form.

He made 13 assists in just 21 La Liga appearances this campaign for Barcelona.

The ex-Borussia Dortmund star, who played under Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, is a forward with tremendous pace.

Incidentally, Tuchel described Dembele as “incredible” back in 2019.

Attacking upgrade

For certain, the Blues need to try find a way to get more goals and assists from the forward players in the 2022/23 season.

Dembele ticks a lot of boxes as being someone that can inject extra quality to the attack at Stamford Bridge, but there’s a hot race to win his signature.

If he signs, it would surely bring the future of several current players into doubt.

It’s been reported Chelsea attackers Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic would be open to leaving if a suitable bid was made for them.
