Chelsea could enter the race for Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford amid their reported plan to sell Edouard Mendy in the summer, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
Mendy’s spell at Stamford Bridge might be close to an end.
He is currently behind Kepa Arrizabalaga in the goalkeeper pecking order at Chelsea, and while he is still under contract until 2025, reports suggested that he and the club are nowhere close to an agreement over an extension.
According to a recent report from the Evening Standard, Chelsea even plan to offload the Senegal international in the summer to make room for a new No1.

There are not many top goalkeepers available in the transfer market, but CBS Sports’ Jacobs claims that Pickford could be an option for Chelsea in the summer.
“He [Pickford] is likely to be a highly sought-after name, especially if Everton were to go down,” the journalist told GiveMeSport.
“Tottenham are very interested, but Chelsea could be there as well.”
Thanks to Arrizabalaga’s exceptional form since reclaiming a starting spot under Graham Potter, a new goalkeeper should not be a priority for Chelsea in the summer window.
On the other hand, sooner or later, Spurs would be under pressure to sign a new goalkeeper to replace 36-year-old Hugo Lloris.
But if the opportunity presented itself, Pickford would arguably be too good a potential signing to miss out on for Chelsea.
Pickford, 28, has made the third-most saves in the Premier League this season (75), behind only Brentford’s David Raya and Fulham’s Bernd Leno.
Arrizabalaga who had seven fewer starts in the competition has understandably had to made significantly fewre saves at 45.
Arrizabalaga’s 82.7 per cent save percentage is the highest in the league, but Pickford’s 74.8 per cent is arguably just as impressive considering the number of shots he has faced.
