Reports suggest Chelsea are set to make a bid for Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries in the coming days.
According to 90min, the club are expected to make a firm offer to the Serie A outfit, who need to make a big-money sale this summer for financial reasons.
The Blues are looking for cover all across their defence in the last month of the transfer window, with the Dutchman being identified as the perfect option to provide cover on the right of defence.

He impressed in the role particularly during Euro 2020, where he gained a lot of attention for his performances for the Netherlands, despite their underwhelming tournament as a whole.
While Thomas Tuchel has the option of Reece James already on the right of defence, he has frequently considered playing the Englishman as part of his back three, with a strong wing-back option being required in order to fill that void.
Chelsea to bid for Dumfries
90min have claimed this has seen them turn their attention to Dumfries, with the Nerazzurri poised for a bid to come in just a few days’ time.
The club are also considering making a formal offer to Southampton for Kyle Walker-Peters.

The Saints man enjoyed a stellar season playing on either side of the club’s defence, proving an extremely strong defender whilst also providing the attacking threat the Blues look for in their requisite roles.
This versatility could encourage them to push for a deal with the England international instead of Dumfries, with the likely departure of Marcos Alonso meaning Ben Chilwell could also be short on cover on the opposite flank.
With the season only a couple of days away, Todd Boehly will no doubt be looking to secure any deals quickly, considering how drawn out some of their prior negotiations have been this summer.
