Reports have claimed that Chelsea are set to send club officials to Italy to discuss potentially signing goalkeeper Andre Onana this summer.

According to the Evening Standard, chiefs are travelling to visit the Serie A side to speak out that signing as well as the future of Romelu Lukaku.

Onana has emerged as one of the top candidates to become the new goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge as a potential clear out is prepared.

Both Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy have endured individual spells on the bench in the last two years, potentially showing that neither is of the quality required for Chelsea.

The Spaniard has made himself the number one choice this season, after a string of sensational performances in the early Graham Potter era.

However, recent games have seen fingers pointed at him for his part in goals conceded, notably against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Both goalkeepers have been linked with exits from the club, particularly Mendy after an extended period of time this season on the sidelines.

A number of Premier League goalkeepers have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, particularly Robert Sanchez who was spotted at the stadium for the recent Champions League game.

However, reports have now claimed that Onana is one of the figures near the top of the list of potential signings in that position.

He made headlines during the World Cup after a disagreement with the Cameroon manager, seeing him sent home from the camp before their only win of the tournament against Brazil.

Despite that embarrassment, he has regained for Inter this season, being particularly impressive in their run to the Champions League semi-finals up to now.
