Chelsea are reportedly weighing up a potential move to try sign Barcelona youngster Sergino Dest.
According to The Express, the Blues are considering a £30million raid for the American defender. Bayern Munich are named as possible suitors, too.
It is understood that Barcelona may need to sell in January to complete the transfer of Manchester City’s Ferran Torres, so a door could be open for Chelsea to swoop in for Dest.
The report explains Thomas Tuchel’s side may be looking to boost their defence next month when the transfer window opens because they are still waiting to hear on the severity of Ben Chilwell’s injury.
Dest, who moved to Camp Nou from Ajax for £18.9million (BBC) a year ago, is a versatile defender that can play in either full-back position.
He’s predominately a right-sided wide man that loves to fly forward with pace and directness. However, he could provide competition for Marcos Alonso at left-back if he ended up at Stamford Bridge in January.

American reunion at Chelsea?
£30million-rated Dest has been a little inconsistent during his first year in Spain, but is a raw talent that’s still so young.
He’s already got 15 senior caps for USA, meaning he’s an international teammate of Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic. Dest previously said that Pulisic was “almost unstoppable” in training sessions.
The Blues should always be on the search for the best young stars around and the United States are beginning to bring through a talented generation of players.
