Chelsea are reportedly expected to offer a contract to Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar, who could be on his way out of the San Siro.

The defender’s contract with the Italian giants expires at the end of the season, which is why the player is able to discuss a free transfer for the summer.

According to 90min, Inter are determined to get the 27-year-old to sign a new contract extension with them.

Chelsea expected to offer Skriniar contract

90min add that the likes of Chelsea, Newcastle United and Manchester United are set to offer a contract to Skriniar.

The report explains that some potential buyers could step up interest this month and even try to agree a deal to sign him in the January transfer window, though.

He’s been a top centre-half in European football for several years now, so it could be an incredible bit of business for someone.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed in 2021 that Skriniar is a player that Jose Mourinho “loves”. If you’re a defender, that should be a massive compliment from a managerial tactician like Mourinho.

The Blues defence remains a very topical conversation right now.

Benoit Badiashile is an exciting young centre-back that has already joined the club this month.

However, the Chelsea backline is definitely one that may need some extra work done to it in 2023.

“Amazing” Thiago Silva is 38 and can’t go on forever. Elsewhere, Kalidou Koulibaly is struggling, and Wesley Fofana is injury prone.
