Chelsea will reportedly make a serious move for Joao Felix if Atletico Madrid decrease their asking price for the player.
According to The Athletic, Todd Boehly is debating whether acquiring the attacker in January would make sense on a sporting and financial level.
Atletico are apparently asking for a package worth £18.6m, which includes a £13.3m loan fee and £5.3m gross salary.
This is certainly a hefty price to play considering the Portugal international would potentially only represent Chelsea for just over half a season.
The 23-year-old is being heavily tipped to leave Atletico this month, with the Premier League his most likely next destination.

Chelsea considering Joao Felix
A number of England’s lucrative clubs are said to be thinking about obtaining Felix’s services this month.
However, like Chelsea, The Athletic claim Arsenal and Manchester United are still weighing up the pros and cons of such a deal.
Splashing the cash is one thing, but will the ‘special‘ forward actually flourish in arguably the toughest division on the planet?
Joining a new league is one thing, but to do it in the middle of the campaign is another challenge all together.
Permitted he heads to the Prem, Felix will only have a handful of matches to make an impact at teams who would need him to hit the ground running immediately.
Why do Chelsea need Felix?
Chelsea are perhaps the side most in need of a savour right now, especially one who could possibly improve their scoring failures.
Graham Potter’s men have faltered in the final third recently, managing just three goals in their last five competitive matches.

They failed to accumulate a single shot on target in the second half against Nottingham Forest yesterday.
Forest dominated after the break, and were worthy of their equaliser from Serge Aurier.
Potter’s recognised front men have now scored just 19 between them all term, eight fewer than Erling Haaland has bagged himself.
Whilst Felix has not exactly been prolific, he certainly has an eye for the net, as demonstrated in his first Atletico appearance post the World Cup.

He converted a smart header from close range in the 2-0 victory over Elche, taking his tally to four goals from the last three La Liga fixtures.
Form that Potter could definitely do with harnessing at this moment in time.
