Chelsea could reportedly orchestrate a list minute move for Sheffield United’s Sander Berge this month.
According to Simon Phillips, Berge might be collared by the Blues before the transfer window shuts next week.
Todd Boehly and his team are clearly desperate to add a new midfielder to Graham Potter’s squad in January.
Their search stalled with Enzo Fernandez, continues to meet obstacles with Moises Caicedo and appears to have ended abruptly with Amadou Onana.
Time is running out for the Stamford Bridge chain of command, hence why they are thinking outside of the box for potential additions.
Berge would certainly be a left-filed choice, considering he has hardly been mentioned as a target for the Premier League side.

Yet, the 24-year-old has a very strong profile that would evidently appeal to a club in Chelsea’s situation.
He is a tall, powerful midfielder, with a decent eye for goal.
Could Sande Berge be heading to Chelsea?
The Norway international remains one of Sheffield United’s biggest and best weapons, following his £22m transfer from Genk in 2020.
Injuries have slightly damaged his surge to potential ultimate superiority, yet is still arguably the sharpest Blade in the bunch.
“You can’t replace Sander,” admitted United manager Paul Heckingbottom last August whilst discussing his player’s possible departure from Bramall Lane.
Heckingbottom might have to find a replacement if Chelsea are serious in their pursuit of Berger.

Potter’s employers may have to fend off Liverpool for his services, who Phillips claims are also interested.
This might be a concern for the Blues, considering Berge apparently dreams of heading to Anfield one day as a permanent fixture.
