Report: Club have just been promoted to the PL, now they want to sign 19-year-old Chelsea talent
Newly-promoted Bournemouth are reportedly interested in raiding Chelsea this summer to sign Levi Colwill.
According to talkSPORT, the Cherries have set their sights on picking Colwill from the Stamford Bridge tree and adding him to their Premier League basket.
Scott Parker is already back in the top flight, after overseeing Bournemouth’s successful return this season.
He was in charge of the Fulham side who went down in 2019/20, but will be joining his former employers in the promised footballing land.
Parker and the Championship winners await to see which of the other promotion chasers will earn the golden ticket.
Lots of interest in Levi
Luton Town, Sheffield United, Nottingham Forest and Huddersfield Town secured the four play-off spots.
It is the latter that Bournemouth will be keeping the closest eye on, considering Huddersfield currently own a player of great intrigue to them.
Colwill has enjoyed an excellent senior debut campaign with the Terriers, following his loan move from Chelsea last summer.
The 19-year-old played 30 times across all competitions and will now be eyeing up one last appearance at Wembley.
However, the young defender might not have to wait long for his call-up to the first division.
Even if Huddersfield fail at the final hurdle, there will be several suitors waiting to snap up his signature.
Bournemouth and others interested in Colwill
Bournemouth appear to be in line, with the idea of replacing the old with the new on their mind.
Most noticeably, finding a replacement for Chelsea legend Gary Cahill.
Cahill’s contract expires in June and although he packs plenty of Premier League experience, he was hardly used by Parker in the second half of the term.
If the 36-year-old departs, a space in the defence unit will open up to fill.
One that could be plugged by Colwill, although the Vitality Stadium’s chain of command are not alone in their pursuit of the teenager.
Both Frank Lampard and Brendan Rodgers have apparently expressed their desire to sign the Cobham academy graduate, along with Southampton.
It’s going to be a lively few months for Levi, that’s for sure.
