Report: Club have real doubts over whether Chelsea will make big enough bid for their £60m man now

Manchester City are doubting whether Chelsea will make a big enough offer to sign Raheem Sterling this summer.

According to ESPN, Chelsea have made England international Sterling a “top target” in this window.

The report explains that some at Man City have doubts about whether the Blues will submit a significant offer for their 27-year-old, though.

Sterling, who would reportedly be open to a transfer to Stamford Bridge, will want assurances about his game time.

The exciting winger completed another successful year last season at the Etihad Stadium, scoring 17 goals and making nine assists across all competitions. However, he wasn’t always a nailed-on starter within a Man City squad that often rotates.

It’s been claimed he will cost £60million to prize away from the Etihad.

Doubts over Raheem Sterling to Chelsea

The Sterling transfer saga is certainly one of the more interesting tales to follow in this window.

If signed, Chelsea would be getting a player with a stunning CV. He’s won four Premier League titles, five League Cups and one FA Cup. The forward has an impressive 131 Man City career goals, too.

It would be interesting to see where Blues manager Thomas Tuchel sees him fitting into his plans.

Sterling will reportedly decide his future in the next fortnight, so fans may not have to wait too much longer to find out.

It would be a transfer of the biggest magnitude if Chelsea manage to sign an attacker in the prime of his career from a main rival, who also happens to be a talisman for the England national side. He would be linking up with international teammates such as Mason Mount and Reece James.
