AC Milan are interested in signing Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the summer transfer window, according to reports.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who’s out of contract with Chelsea at the end of next season, is a target for Italian giants Milan.

The £120,000-a-week Blues midfielder has been linked with a move to the San Siro recently.

90min reported last month that AC Milan want to sign Loftus-Cheek for next season and they’ve asked Fikayo Tomori about him.

Now, fresh speculation suggests this deal may soon become more likely.

Calciomeracto has claimed today that Milan could soon receive a small cash windfall that could be put towards a summer bid for Loftus-Cheek. They do add that the Serie A club may still need to Chelsea to lower their asking price for the 27-year-old star, though.

It is understood that Atalanta’s Matteo Pessina will be sold to Italian league rivals Monza for €15million (£13million) this summer.

The report says that the deal will be really helpful to Milan, who actually sold Pessina to Atalanta back in 2017.

Calciomercato expects Stefano Pioli’s side to take home between €3.5mllion and €7.5million from Pessina’s sale.

We could easily name 10-plus players that need to leave Chelsea at the end of the season.

In our view, Loftus-Cheek is definitely an individual that has to go through the exit doors. We think the club can make a tidy profit on the academy graduate, too.

Now 27, Loftus-Cheek will want to be playing every week and he’s no more than a squad option at Stamford Bridge.

The versatile midfielder is still a very useful individual and we wouldn’t be surprise to see him do well in Italy.

It’s definitely time for the £120,000-a-weeek (Spotrac) man to write a new chapter in his career.

He doesn’t want to spend the peak years of his career sitting on the bench and perhaps he can fulfil his potential overseas, something which has worked well for several English players in recent times.
