If Juventus can’t re-sign Atletico Madrid forward Alvaro Morata, they could reportedly target either Timo Werner or Anthony Martial.

According to Sky Italy, Serie A giants Juventus are prioritising a deal to take 29-year-old striker Morata back to Turin after his previous loan with them.

However, it is understood alternative options are now being considered.

The report explains Juve could look at a deal for Chelsea’s £45million attacker Werner, who may be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge on loan. However, one potential issue with the 26-year-old are his high wages.

In addition, Man United’s French forward Martial is on the Juventus radar.

Juventus could target Timo Werner

Martial, 26, has three goals during Man United’s pre-season, so it makes sense to see Juventus linked. His Old Trafford career has been a little up and down, but he’s a top-quality player when he’s in the mood.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s speedster Werner has netted once during pre-season friendlies so far. He’s admitted in a recent interview that he’s keen to play more and could be happy anywhere, though.

Martial and Werner are two Premier League forwards that haven’t lived up to expectation in the last couple of years, so would they be tempted to reignite their careers in Italy?

Loan deal mooted

Sky Italy’s new report mentions a possible loan for Werner, which you’d guess may be the quickest way to offload him this summer.

However, there’s going to be even more problems in the Chelsea frontline if he goes.

The Blues are already desperately short of attacking options going into the new season, so it makes little sense to let Werner leave until a new striker joins.
