Report: Juventus considering move to sign £50m Chelsea attacker, Potter could sell him already

Reports have claimed that Juventus are keen on the signing of Chelsea attacker Raheem Sterling.

According to Tutto Mercato Web, the Serie A side are hoping that the England international will replace Angel di Maria as their star wide man.

The signing of the 28-year-old last summer for around £50m was expected to be the catalyst for a new-look and exciting attack to begin to form at Stamford Bridge.

However, goals have been tough to come by for the Premier League ‘100 club’ member. He has just six goals in all competitions, with only four coming in the league.

With him scoring 78 times across his last five Premier League seasons with Manchester City, everyone at Chelsea will be a bit confused as to why this form hasn’t continued at Stamford Bridge.

Juventus want Sterling

He is currently injured, after being replaced moments into his first game against his last side. Graham Potter has claimed the issue is a strange one, with the club hoping that he will be fit for the Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund.

However, his place in the side may not be as solid as it was when he was last fit.

The Blues have added Mykhailo Mudryk and Joao Felix to their ranks this January, as they look to rescue somewhat of a respectful finish to this season.

Now, Tutto Mercato Web have claimed Juventus are considering bringing in Sterling as they look to begin to catch-up with the likes of Napoli and the Milan sides.

Reports have claimed that Chelsea are already considering letting the England international go, with the signing so far just not working out.

There are still rumours linking the Blues to a deal for other attackers this month, and Sterling’s place in the team will be even tougher to find with the signing of Christopher Nkunku at the end of the campaign.
