Jorginho’s representatives are reportedly in talks with Juventus over a potential summer reunion with former manager Maurizio Sarri.
The 28-year-old has been one of the first names on the team sheet under Frank Lampard this season, missing just three out of the 29 Premier League games Chelsea have played so far this season.
However, Lampard has an abundance in midfield options, already having Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante and Billy Gilmour who could play in a holding midfield role.
Ethan Ampadu, who is on loan at RB Leipzig at the moment, could also be another option for the manager next season.
If Chelsea plan to recoup their investment in the former Napoli man, there would be no better time than the summer transfer window.
According to The National, Serie A leaders Juventus have entered talks with Jorginho’s representatives over a possible €40million transfer to bring him back to Italy.
Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri reportedly wants the midfield maestro back under his wing, after the pair previously worked together at Napoli and Chelsea.
While the reported offer means Chelsea would make a loss on Jorginho, who reportedly cost Chelsea €50m in 2018, it would still be an opportunity to fund summer signings amid the current financial situation.
Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos denied any contact with Juventus in April, but he has not ruled out a summer exit for his client.
