Manchester City have submitted a written bid to Chelsea for Mateo Kovacic.
That is according to The Athletic.
We’ve heard plenty of transfer speculation in recent weeks linking Premier League champions Man City to Mateo Kovacic, and it sounds like that is intensifying now that the window is open.
So, could we see the 29-year-old playing his football at the Etihad Stadium next season?

The Athletic has claimed on Tuesday afternoon that City have submitted a £25million offer for Kovacic
It is understood that the Croatia international wants to complete a move to Manchester to play for last season’s treble winners.
The report adds that the Chelsea midfielder is admired by City boss Pep Guardiola, who’s been a big fan of his for several years. Finally, the pair could get to work together if the transfer can be agreed.
ESPN claimed last month that Chelsea are willing to sell Kovacic this summer if someone matches a £35million asking price.

With just one year left on his contract, we’re not surprised that all speculation points towards Chelsea selling Kovacic.
We certainly wouldn’t mind if the Blues accept City’s £25million offer.
The skilful central midfielder has been a popular and a ‘really important‘ at Stamford Bridge in this Chelsea squad. It feels the right time for a move, though.
We’re looking forward to seeing how a new-look midfield can take shape next season with Mauricio Pochettino at the helm.
