Report: Leeds interested in 'very talented' 26-year-old Chelsea player, one year left on his contract

Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea fringe man Kenedy during this summer’s transfer window.

According to the Daily Mail, Premier League rivals Leeds are admirers of the 26-year-old Blues player.

The report explains Kenedy’s final-day appearance in Chelsea’s win against Watford could help attract interest in him.

Kenedy, who’s entering the final year of his contract, is a versatile left-sided player that can be deployed as a winger or wing-back.

Described as “very talented” by Blues manager Thomas Tuchel, the Brazilian spent most of the second half of the season watching from the stands after returning in January from his loan with Flamengo.

He’s very much on the fringes of the Chelsea squad, but reminded everyone of his ability with an eye-catching performance this month against Watford.

Leeds interested in Kenedy

Kenedy’s career at Stamford Bridge has never really taken off, making 30 first-team appearances since joining the club in 2015.

However, there’s been numerous loans to highlight his potential.

Leeds managed to stay in the Premier League for next season after surviving on the final day, so it’ll be interesting to see how they build their squad at Elland Road.

Kenedy’s a versatile left-footer that’s very technical and comfortable with the ball. A small concern may be the physicality of the English game, though.

It’s been reported he’s one of the players on Chelsea’s books that would consider leaving this summer if a suitable transfer bid was made for them.
