Liverpool have reportedly made an approach for Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni, who’s a player that’s recently been linked as a priority transfer target for Chelsea.

According to Foot Mercato, Liverpool have now made contact with the 22-year-old’s representatives. It is explained Reds manager Jurgen Klopp loves the Monaco defensive midfielder.

The report adds there is interest in him from Real Madrid and Paris-Saint-Germain, too.

It was reported earlier this month that Tchouameni is Chelsea’s top summer target to strengthen in their midfield.

The youngster’s already a senior international for World Cup champions France, earning eight caps so far.

In addition, he’s someone that ex-Blues favourite Cesc Fabregas spoke very highly of back in 2021 after playing alongside him in the Monaco side.

There’s a lot to like about the all-action midfielder that’s building quite the reputation in Ligue 1, so he would be an exciting addition to the Premier League if he moves to England.

Can Chelsea replicate Liverpool success?

Chelsea’s success rate in the transfer market in the last few years has been a bit hit and miss.

In contrast, Premier League rivals Liverpool are one of the very best around when it comes to signing talented players to fit the system at Anfield.

There’s a clear identity under Liverpool boss Klopp, who has built something extraordinary at Anfield.

Tuchel’s still in the early stages of his Chelsea career as he approaches 18 months in charge, which is why he must be given the backing to build the Blues squad how he likes.

Hopefully, the new ownership, whoever it may, is willing to support Tuchel in the transfer market.

He’s a top-class manager that appears to have the full support of the Blues fanbase.
