Manchester City are now reportedly interested in Chelsea’s Mateo Kovacic.
According to The Telegraph, the 28-year-old Blues midfielder is starting to attract interest from the reigning Premier League champions.
It is understood that City, who showed an interest in signing Kovacic back in 2018 when he was a Real Madrid player, have been alerted to the fact that his contract at Stamford Bridge is due to expire in 2024.
The report explains that Pep Guardiola is a “big admirer” of the Chelsea star, too.
The Telegraph further adds that City boss Guardiola is set to make changes to his midfield in the summer.

Kovacic has turned out to be a fantastic £40million signing for Chelsea.
The Croatia international is a dynamic central midfielder who’s great on the ball and press-resistant, so can make a huge difference for his side when in possession.
We suspect most of the Blues fanbase would love him to extend his stay in west London.
This new Man City rumour should add to concerns about him leaving, though.

Journalist Simon Phillips recently explained on his Substack that Chelsea haven’t held any formal talks with Kovacic yet over a new deal. He thinks Graham Potter’s side may even listen to offers for him in the summer.
Potter described Kovacic as “really important” earlier in the season, which seems pretty clear from the outside looking in.
However, the Blues started their midfield revamp last month by offloading Jorginho to Arsenal and signing Enzo Fernandez from Benfica.
Will Kovacic be part of the long-term plans at Stamford Bridge?
